My Cummins ISX had to be rebuilt after 475,000 mi so I'm not a big fan. Also if you check their politics you won't be too impressed.

The ProStar without the DEF system is the one that caused so much problems. I am not sure what years that was but by 2014 the engine problems were mostly gone. If you buy the truck do not pay more then $30,000 for it as many folks run from them. Personally, I would recommend you calling Hirschbach to see if they have any of their 2014's for sell. My old unit there was 24077 and when I turned it in there were no problems with it. It had a Maxx Force in it and about 340,000 miles. Still had time on the warranty.

I've been unlucky to drive the older (no DEF) Prostars. It's a great truck if you don't mind huge trails of blue or white smoke coming out of the exhaust and the truck asking for a parked regen once or twice a day.

Aside from the motors being awful I think the ergonomics and dash layout is about the worst I've seen in a modern aero truck. Very cheap and flimsy feeling interior. If Paccar makes a Mercedes or Cadillac quality interior the International is somewhere around mid 90's Dodge of Ford quality. Just awful.

Pro stars are cuties. I love them. Wait! I love the way they look. Now can they do the magic. With magic I mean, can they make you money? My answer is No! They will break and then break some more. I recommend! See here is the trick! Every truck is different. I have buddy who worked as a company driver for a small time company here in San Joaquin
Country. He drove that truck two years and then they owner sold him the truck. He bought it because he knows what's up. So I recommend getting something cheap and reliable. Stay away from Arrow and Tec. Find an owner operator operator on craigslist is the best way to go. It's better than fleets

I drove a maxxforce 2012 with a 13 spd. I loved it, but it did the regen thing (no def) a lot. I was not popular in the truckstop. It ran like a beast tho...
