Are those mostly drop/hook loads with the shorter miles? That makes a big difference running those shorter loads. I currently run reefer...if I had to run shorter loads like that with the wait times I deal with to get loaded/unloaded, I'd starve lol.

Also, does Big G pay detention/layover/breakdown pay?

I dont know the exact numbers but it seems to me that our freight in the midwest is about 60% live loads...it can eat up your clock but they dont keep you in that loop long.
If you live in the northeast you wont see the midwest much.

They do pay breakdown pay if you are stuck somewhere waiting on your truck for an extended period of time .
However, i have not been broke down on the road my whole time here. I know others who have but i manage to get my truck back to the yard and get work done while on hometime.

I inquired about this before I started and during orientation as in our manual there was no mention of breakdown pay.

How it was explained to me is if the driver is down with truck issues they pay breakdown per se but they pay it out in the form of performance pay.

I questioned about the time requirement to receive it and compensation but there is no actual figure they could give me.

I havent been in a breakdown status so I have no idea what that compensation is but nothing being in writing about it makes me unsure of how consistent it is paid out driver to driver.

The OP I believe had received compensation during a deer strike but how it was paid out/ calculated I dont know.

Others that have/have not been paid for it may chime in.
