I have an owner op friend who is always crying poverty .
Buutttt...he seldom runs weekends and gotta be in the driveway by Thurs or Friday and done till Monday.
Always has money for some new toy like Harley's and fancy pick ups.
And can always afford long vacations.

Take your monthly amount times 12, send them that and watch the bill each month, when they say you owe, pay it.

I only have one bill I can't pay ahead, and that's for our home dairy delivery, if I pay more than owed, they give it to the driver as a tip. Learned that the hard way.

Wasn't aware "home dairy" deliveries were still available. Cool.

Thanks everyone for commenting. Great nuggets in some of them. I went ahead and paid all bills for August and next week will pay for September just to not have to be worried about it sneaking up on me. A week ago I was off for 5 days due to a trailer issue and if I did not have things prepared ahead of time as in paying ahead I would be hurting right now. I only completed one load last week. Just completed this week and its back to how it usually has been for me as in weekly pay. Last week woke me up even more though because something out of my control could have derailed what has been worked on for a year now. I look at that sentence and I realize that I had poor planning, even though I felt my first year was successful, when it came to running this business and personal side of life. So now I am going to kick it into over drive and really push, in a safe way, to get more funds set aside for winter but also beyond for the just in case moments.

I personally have two savings accounts. The way I have it set up, my checking account balance is never higher than 750$. My first savings account stays at 2,295. The other catches everything else. I pay my bills out of the first savings account. Live on the road with the checking.

The second savings account I use to increase my rental properties, or to maintain the current ones. My current monthly income after taxes, paying my property manager, and the cost of living is 6,200$ give or take a few hundred. This all goes to the third account. I want to retire at 45, my 401k is doing well as are my rental properties!
