That's straight bs it's 7 months in the year and I am a o/o and I have made 72000 I'm far from broke. Just sounds like to me you are scared of responsibility in this industry. Is o/o the right choice for everybody driving trucks heck no because everyone can't run a business. But if you want to make the most money in this industry that you can and have more freedom and don't have to yes sir yes mam to everyone then become an o/o. Best the decision I ever made and I'm 25 years old

I know several people that tried it.
All went broke by the 3rd year, when the freight goes down, or the company cuts miles so you can't make the truck payment, and you have to give the truck back.
Common story.
7 months in, and you know everything.
If it works for you, then great.
72k is a good local job.
O/O should make 150-200k per year. -
To be truthful buddy I said 7 months into the year not into trucking, My brother have been driving 10 years and have been an oo 8 of those years. My dad and uncle has been driving 30 plus I don't claim to know everything but I will claim to have alot of experience around trucks and around me I'm young I have only 3 years experience. Go back to any of my old post I give real advice I never brag or boost but I will state my opinion. When I see a green guy asking for information and someone gives him straight bs. Again Yes I said 72000 in 7 months so yes you are right oo average around 150k to 200k so if you add another 65 to 70k in the next 5 months to what i have earn already this year you will come up around your average I have no reason to be untruthful.

I was only reporting what many others have told me, mostly in CA.
Everyone's situation is different.
I did my time in OTR, and have no interest in it.
If it is working for you, then that is fantastic.
I want you to succeed.
Good job. -
Thanks

Are we conflating O/O with Lease/O? My opinion, they are two different things.
Lease/O, or fleece, your basically a company driver with truck payments. They call all the shots and get all the benefits. You pay all the bills. And yes, most do fail.
O/O you don't like where your at, what your doing, or who your with, you take all your marbles, or the marbles your making payments on, and move to greener pastures. No obligation to the 'company.' As expected, those guys have a better success rate.Truckin2Eat Thanks this. -
