Welcome! What's your major issue? Personally I've been driving for 1.5 yesrs and I still suck at backing in Truckstops and getting my weight correct. Other than that pretty easy. Drove through NY city last week, was a peace of cake.

Well first, I'd like to know how I could better get to know my rights as a truck driver. With all of the traffic ( not that it bothers me) and all the postboards witg truck laywers on them, knowing your rights and when or when you're not at fault is good, something else I'd be curious of is my rights as a company driver via OSHA,STAA, DOT, and other companys. To be completely honest at times it feels like we're being tugged around because we don't know them well enough.

Rights? Do your job, get paid. Just like any vocation. What rights? Or, as a milenial, do you think things should be given to you for nothing? Sounds like you're just waiting for a situation to arise so you can pounce. It is how you've been brought up...everyone wins, everyone gets a trophy.

Man, you hit on something that really gets under my skin. We see lawyer's billboards all over the nation, but In Nashville, TN, there is a billboard of a law firm that says, "Been in an accident with an 18-wheeler? You deserve to be paid." Those attorneys should be hung.

As for rights, we don't have many. We are truly guilty until we can prove our innocence.

    Welcome aboard, grasshopper!

You have a right to have a dash cam running on your windshield 24/7.
You have a right to call a lawyer at your own expense.

You have the right to remain silent.
You have the right to have your good load re-powered in OKC.
You have the right to do shuttle loads in, and around New Jersey.
You have the right to run air freight or Conway loads with no time in them, so you have to literally run through the truck stop.
You have the right not to idle and be comfortable.
You have the right not to reject a load from after hours, and be thrown into no freight purgatory for a few days.
You have the right to go from Chicago to the Carolina's cause it makes your DM lots of money.
You have the right to wash your truck once a year weather it needs it or not.
You have the right to spend more than a few nights in dirt drop lots with only an outhouse for amenities.

    Buck34445 Thanks this.

No nothing in this world is free clearily, I knew what this job was before I ever took it. Heres the issue if you don't know your stuff in the modern day world you might as well be a sitting duck, want stuff for free no, want to make sure im being treated fairly, according to the law yes. Milenials dont want free stuff, we want eqaulity
