Yeah but 18 offered is usually a place that can afford to top you out close to 22, their not gonna offer top out pay right out the gate...

I guess I'm in a decent area because I'm not working for under $23 per hour and OT after 8 hours per day- plus guaranteed paid for 8 no matter what. To some that might seem nit picky- but if you accept OT after 40 there's nothing stopping your company from working you 12 hours on Wednesday and sending you home after only 3-4 hours on Friday.

Again, maybe I'm just in a good area- which I think we all agree that local success depends on your area more than anything. But I'm not getting out of bed and fighting these busy city streets, with these crazy 4 wheelers, for anything less than that. That's just me

I worked for CPC up here in Jacksonville but they are contracted to run Bridgestone. CPC is a third party company. You have the benefits and pay through them but you drive Bridgestone, Walgreens trucks. Pretty weird but that is how they roll. Pay is pretty good through CPC if you can score a regular route. I was on the extra board up here and it was rough. Working two to three days a week some overnights some day runs. Getting the giant 48 and 53 foot trailers with a sleeper into Firestone stores and Tires Plus will make your balls sweat! Very close calls and have to be very careful, those large trailers have no business being in those tiny lots! Walgreens is a better gig to go with though. Your insurance will suck, because it is with CPC and expensive but the pay is there. Bridgestone pay was different though. If you delivered within 100 mile radius of the warehouse, you got 20 hourly with overtime after 8 hours. If you delivered past the 100 miles, you get a variation of mileage, unload, sleeper berth pay, fuel pay, etc..... Pretty good, but if you run day runs 5 days a week there, you make more than being doing the overnight runs where you sleep in the cab.

CPC Logistics is all that. Great company. They're not a staffing company. They're a trucking company with 3700 drivers. 1300 assigned to Walgreens. Weekly guarantee and easy unload. New equipment and great managers.

You will find that OTR done right and profitable will be some of the best memories you might make outside of marriage and children in life.

It's a shame you got out 6 months into running all over. It would have been better to stay a year in.
