That's some cool #### right there. I used to do a Wendy's in Rockefeller center at the fox news building underground. Averaged 160 cases but we were able to get it in one trip on 4 fold out carts and 3 hand carts and a whole bunch of plastic wrap. Go in this huge 60 ton freight elevator that would of fit the truck and 48 if the truck wasn't 230wb (don't you love when a food company gives you a otr condo for a 2 driver run where the sleeper is of no use) then get out of the elevator and have to fight 4 800lb gorilla carts up the ramp to get to where the regular trucks just dock into. Then its a tiny elevator where you have to make 3 trips to get 4 fold outs and 3 dolly's up and then a 50 yard walk to the store. Then you finally get to run the product into the store and go fight your way over to jfk at 8am. After doing this for my 1st job everything else is a walk in the park. Now im moving oilfield #### out in the boonies
There was one benefit to this stop, not one fat chick in the fox building![]()

Interesting.
I did battle against thieves targeting my gigantic fat ### MBM trailer in Jersey of all places. If you don't attend that trailer long enough they will battery saw through the insulated walls to grab something. And YOU pay for it.Mike2633 and Getsinyourblood Thank this. -
Mike2633 Thanks this.

i think i saw a US Foods last week unloading with a ramp that was not flush with the trailer floor, but about 6-8" BELOW the floor. Apparently a lot of companies to this and when i was at Republic we did this too (no-one explained to me that the ramp COULD be put flush with the floor).
So you've got several hundred pounds on the hand truck that has to be balanced, then you've got this 8 or more inch DROP and likely no brakes on the handtruck.
1) YOU'RE KILLING YOURSELVES.
2) IT'S NOT WORTH IT NO MATTER HOW MUCH IT PAYS (ALTHOUGH IF IT PAID $3000 PER WEEK I WOULD RE-CONSIDER)
3) FLEET "MANAGERS" ARE CLUELESS AND DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
4) fORGOT MY 4TH POINT, BUT IT'S NOT A POSITIVE ONE EITHER.. -
I Remember now. Those are 3 more reasons why i don't do foodservice/beverage delivery anymore.

I'll add your fourth one.
It's too much like work.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Putting the ramp with the floor also lessens the chance of the ramp getting broken from a bad weld cracking.
