CAT had enough EPA pollution credits to still sell a certain amount of the mech's. The E's were a little cleaner than the requirement. That was before the bureau found out about the ECM cheat mode. Heehee!
E-log rule cleared and to be published in the Federal register.

Thank God i own my trucks, pull my own product, and do not have to run a log book. No ,ore issues with all these new rules and regulations that the DOT, FMSCA, and so on cannot make up their minds about. If it takes them as long to wipe their rears because they have to have a vote as too which hand to use. No Thanks. Do not need the headaches anymore, and found a way to not have to deal with it .

Does anyone know if a glider can be considered pre-2000 to be exempt? Or can I just buy an old engine, rebuild it and put in my 2013 Cascadia?
-
Neither one

i can see it now pre 2000 model trucks are all of a sudden gonna be worth 60k and people will actually buy them at that lol
Big_D409 Thanks this. -
Trucks are not registered according to their engines. A 2016 glider is a 2016 glider no matter what engine is put into it. A new glider is not exempt from the ELD rules even if you could figure out a way to put a mechanical engine in it.
Good thing my '89 T600 only has 313k miles on it. Lots of life left in her.

A LOT of older trucks are being resurrected.

Paranoia can be a debilitating condition. Now I understand the need to random drug test. Only folks I ever experienced with such a level of paranoia was drug users.

I was at an auction last week, the 99 and older trucks brought a premium for sure. But the 2000 to 2007 stuff with Cat's (379's and W9's) brought stupid money.
