I'm a new driver who will soon start hauling containers in and out of the Ports of LA/LB, and just wanted to see if there are any drivers with experience in the ports. I was wondering if there's like a map of the ports with names on it, to make it easier for someone new. Thanks.

Go to the POLB website, you'll see a map. I used to load machinery at the end of pier F. Good luck with the cans.

Thank you for the info.

Sounds like thats gonna be alot of stress free fun.
Cali kid Thanks this. -
I did the ports. Google maps is surprisingly good
Good luck, glad I don't have to do that bs anymore! -
Thanks. Are the ports really that bad? What kind of work are you doing now? Since I'm a new driver, it seems like small drayage companies and owner operators are willing to give us new drivers a chance.

Thats why they will give you a chance cause hard for them to keep drivers. 14 hr days at low pay and stuck in a forever traffic jam.

Ports of los angeles and long beach suck! With the exception of a very few, like 1 percent, they people who work there are low class and ghetto as they can be.
Im very polite (former Marine) so i always say sir to everyone, asked one of the guys driving a pickup truck in the port if i was in the right spot. He was an older latino "vato/homeboy" and called me a dumb (insert racist comment) mother f'er.
Most drivers there are helpful.
Trying to get a decent chasis sucks
Everything is bad about the ports more or less -
Stay outta the hammer lane!!
