I recently saw a Chicago company offering a job on Craigslist running strictly Chicago to Los Angeles and back. Let me see if I can find it.

There's plenty out there. But a lot of that is going to involve working with some shady characters... On either end. Good luck in your endeavors.

Hehe
What are the chances you will be driving an ungoverned, paper log white Volvo & being paid on a 1099?
Oh wait, it says so in the description...tlalokay, sevenmph and skinnytrucker Thank this. -
I dont know for certain on this but I believe JKC based in Summit, IL does something like this. Might be worth inquiring about.
Lalito.1234 Thanks this. -
Don't forget the 1980's Porsche Carrera sunglasses and two piece matching jogging suite. Then you'll know you found the right white Volvo crowd.
Jrdude5, archangelic peon, skinnytrucker and 2 others Thank this. -
Indeed, I forgot about that company. They pay on W-2 from what a driver told me. They have a terminal in Santa Fe Springs Cali.
Thanks for the laugh. LOLJohnBoy Thanks this. -
Last I knew they were paying a flat rate per round trip. Something in the neighborhood of $1500 which is pretty crap money for running that hard. But if you crash and burn, even lose your flip flops in the carnage they'll probably just give you another pos Volvo to try again.

Wow, that's quite a wreck. Talk about lucky that only his footwear was burnt to a crisp. I remember seeing one of their trucks overturned in a ditch once. It was on I-44 maybe 50 miles outside of St.Louis.
