We have a terminal here in Mansfield, Ohio. My wife knows a guy that works there; been on for 9 years, and he makes really good $.
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Be sure to ask how seniority works with that position and if it carries over if you switch to linehaul or straight P&D. I've heard Estes drivers complain that their bidding seniority went to zero when they switched boards. If that's still the case, get on P&D or linehaul as soon as there's an opening. Otherwise you will be wasting your time if you stay in that position.
The combo (formerly called "utility") position is good for getting your foot in the door there and seeing what type of work suits you best. You'll get a chance to do P&D, linehaul, and possibly some dock work as well as you cover for other drivers who are on vacation, etc.Last edited: Jul 22, 2016
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
I had heard at one time that you had a bid "for life" at Estes. Meaning you always ran the same run unless the lane disappeared, evidently they don't rebid yearly or every 6 months there. Could be hearsay, I don't know.

That sounds like R+L Freight..Pintlehook Thanks this.

Maybe it was R&L, lol. I'm not familiar with either operation, maybe I should stay out of this thread?!

Carry on. -
