When installing a pressure gauge for drives is it possible to just "tee" into the air line that goes to the air dump valve, or do you have to run a separate line from the air bags to the dash and then to the gauge? I'm either looking to just throw an OEM Freightliner gauge in, or maybe a weigh rite depending on pricing.
BTW, Freightliner quoted me "around" $550 to do this

I don't know, I was told it was unnecessary, but when a sealed load has shifted without your knowing, an air gauge would prevent lots of trouble. A tractor I drove once had the gauge in the line coming from the air suspension, it would have been inserted with a t, liquid filled gauge, but you have to be equalized before reading it, the suspension has to be at ride height. That wouldn't cost much, and there is no reason it wouldn't be accurate. It had to be read from the outside, it was much better than nothing.

I beleive you need to tee into the air line between the levelling valve and the air bag. The factory's usually use a tee right at the air bag and run 1/4" synflec line up to the gauge. Does your truck have a data display in the dash?

it is very simple you go to the right rear airbag and put a tee in it and then run your airline through the frame to the firewall find a place to go through I used a air gauge off of an old air commpresser. and right around 60 psi is for the most part 34,000 lbs I did mine for 30.00and about 1hour hope this helps. and no you can noy tee into the dump valve it does not work tried it already.

Im going to the same. Good I read this the Tee go on the right rear air bag. Air bag levelling is close to my left air bag. I have a international 9400 I. I will put one on my speed axe Trailer. use the right rear air bag. That levelling is also on the left side.

I bought the Right weigh gauge . Had it for about 8 months , never had to adjust it , after setting it up. I pull a tank , never saw anything do such a good job, without constant fiddling . I pull different trailers , all the time. So , it's only on the tractor. That's what I was concerned with , anyway.
Mines a KW , the leveler is about center , but to avoid a sharp bend , I also attached mine to the right rear , because of the way I ran the air line back. -
Any tips for spread axle trailer installation?
