You're not getting your answers here, Doom Guy, you'll get suggestions and ideas. Just make a list of companies and phone numbers, email addresses, sit down with a note pad and writing instrument (or a digital device if that's your choice) and get to work. Make a list of questions you need answers for. (good luck with recruiters) See if you meet their qualifications, before pressing on to the details. See if they pay for training, cover expenses in training, so on. There's good work and good income, go for it. Best.
In my world, don't be afraid to start with a mega carrier. They have seats, and you need to start somewhere.

Jim Palmer recruiter just called me and we spoke for about 45 minutes! He told me the next class date was August 15th (i think) and he's calling me back Monday for the formal interview and to begin the background check stuff!! Not gonna get my hopes up cause I know they're small and it's competitivebut I think he liked me
Starboyjim and tscottme Thank this. -

Sounds good with Jim Palmer. Start preparing now by studying the cdl A practice tests. Go to the top of this page and click on "CDL Practice Tests" and also Google : CDL Practice Tests Arizona

Doom, don't worry too much about training costs. For one thing, they're deductible, later on that'll be a good thing. Then too, many training companies reimburse training program costs, so much/month. That'll reduce your tax deduction, but put more beef in your pay envelope.
People used to get paychecks in envelopes.Doom Guy Thanks this. -
So I got the call back from Palmer... I have a suspension in the last 3 years and that was enough to stop the whole process... anyone know of a company that's not terrible that will take me with a suspension in the last 3 years?

Go through this forum and read up on any company you are looking at, then Goggle them and see if you can find any good or bad info on them before you take the jump. Single like you, i would stay out on the road and make big bank and you can....$800 to $1000 should be an easy mark to meet. Just make sure you do your home work and don't buy into what the company tells you, ask the people who have or work for them because 99.9% of the companies will lie to you in a heart beat!
...oh and I'm 6'7 and can sleep well in just about every truck i've ever been in but you can count on banging your head a few times.Doom Guy Thanks this. -
Thank you very much for the info I'll take it to heart. The issue I just hit today with Jim Palmer is that I have a suspension on my record within the last 3 years... it was enough for them to not want me
will anyone take me in that case? Preferably someone that's not know for being evil or shady?
