They are replacing old trucks with brand new international pro stars and some peterbilts with the Bose seats. Very good seat, especially in Pennsylvania where the roads suck.

Our terminal has gotten about 1/3 of their trucks replaced in the last 3 years with more to come

FedEx ground seems to be going slower as a whole lately, keep getting past at only 65-68 instead of 75-90.

Wolfpak, JKC, Van Kampen, & sometimes Van Eerden still take the consistent company driver hotrod award in my book.
Seen Western Distributing fly on occasion as well.
Learned from a Van Kampen that Van Eerden are related to them.

Talked to recruiter lady on phone & she uncomfortably said (after some prodding) that they expect you to run if roads are open & you have hours, no matter the conditions. Disappointing.

Saw an R&L Volvo daycab thought was kind of a rare sighting.

Got tons of brand new R&L trailers at the Wabash plant in Lafayette,IN.

Saw a couple T680 team sleeper trucks also, & been seeing more R&L sleepers out west in WY,NV,ID ect then I am used to. Usually see their ***** carrier Benefit they subcontract to running their trailers out thataway.

Wonder if the price of a pallet jack just went up?! :)

Seriously though, I've seen a couple of R&L Petes out there already, they look sharp. And the Central Petes are also nice - Peterbilt must be getting aggressive with their pricing.

My first night on linehaul, a driver from another terminal said "welcome to hell"! I'm not sure if he was actually serious or not, but if I felt that way I'd do something else, regardless of how well it pays.

I happen to dig it. This job is far from anything I'd consider hell.

Lots of old hands like to screw with the newbies. Even if the newbie is a seasoned driver transferring in...
