You have a problem with a company keeping it's word? We all understand that "stuff" happens and can deal with it...this is not what it sounds like.

Must be a dispatcher or a broker.

Good response, I think you understand where I am coming from, I'm not trying to piss and moan on a forum like this guy two above us made it seem, I was looking for advice which most have given respectfully. Also, everyone has misunderstood, I am not home weekly, it is everyother weekend I was promised. In the winter like I said, I stayed out for this guy three weeks at a time because he is also short handed cause most guys go on leave for the winter cause they hate driving in the snow at my company, I however do not mind the snow. Winter driving is my favorite time of the year, less boats, RVs, construction, vacationers, etc. Like I said, no one can be perfect and get u home every time on time but when it is every time they fail to do it, that becomes an issue and I was simply looking for advice on how others would or have handled it and a couple posters missed that entirely. The boss man has even told me he enjoys having me as a driver because I don't refuse loads, ever unlike his other drivers. Hell I have gotten far more miles than 3500 in one week by doing so, I can put up with anything this career throws at me but a promise is a promise and that's thats wrong with this world today, people don't uphold them or they just accept when someone breaks it. This companies promises is what steered me towards then to begin with. Thank you everyone who offered good professional advice and even companies to check out.

Are you kidding me? Your really going to sit there and type this garbage to a driver asking for advice? How long have you been a driver? I don't even know the originator of this thread and i'm insulted for him. And then to use the load has to be delivered line to justify the breach of an agreement between this driver and his "boss". I'm guessing that your that driver that lives in his truck cause you don't have a home to go to, or that driver that lives in his truck and when you do finally go home you live in mom and dad's basement with a tin foil hat on. Look up the statistics on the number one reason the trucking industry has such a high turnover rate, i'm sure that even you can see that promised home time and actual home time are two very different things. And why is it such a capital sin for this driver to want to go home? Apparently this driver is doing it right that they don't have to stay out for months at a time to handle their financial obligations. And even your own words " Or a situation will be set up to cause you to quit on your own eliminating the constant yapping about home.", you are in my opinion a disgrace to this industry and have no business responding to any question from any true trucker. It's comments like yours that give this industry a bad name with your it's my sandbox and if you don't play the way I want you to you can either leave or i'll get rid of you by some devious means mentality. I could go on all day about how stunned am I by your answer but I won't. Someday when you get your big boy pants on you'll hopefully realize the folly of your statement and become part of the solution rather then propagating the problem.

This gentleman just won the internet here. That was a better response than I ever could have came up with. You need to manage a company, because you have 100% understanding of what this industry should be. Great response!

You need to put your foot down once again.Seems the boss has a remembering issue.Of he keeps it up start looking for another job.You shouldn't have to keep reminding your boss over and over. You've been there long enough he should know when you want home time.Tell boss when you want home and when you'll head back out.
