You'd have to be out of your mind to pay a thousand dollars a week to rent a job.

I wouldnt recommend going into Trucking these days. Shippers and Receivers dont respect a Driver, they all take their dear sweet time. Companies no longer respect Drivers, nothing but lies from most of them to get you in the seat. They dont care about your Safety, Rest, Hygiene nor Income.

Other Drivers on the road are even rude now a days. Dont even get me started of the four-wheelers! D.O.T and FMCSA is making it more unbearable by the year.

If you're getting out of the Military, go back to School, get a good degree and use the money you saved to help out so you dont have to work much while attending. Today will be my last day in Trucking. I am retiring. Driver fir four years as a "Bucket List" job. Nothing there anymore. Just turned 44 and there is no enjoyment in Trucking any longer.

Being a Combat Vet like myself, I am sure you are a pretty demanding person who requires the sane back that you put in. You wont get it out here. Your first year alone will be a huge Culture shock and everything, especially the low pay one makes in the first year.

Again, do yourself a favor.... RUN!
