Promises Promises. That is so old school. Sorta like a handshake.....

Seriously tho.... The boss only does this to the OP because he can. He can tell if this guy is just a whiner that gets the job done or a guy that isn't gonna take this crap. The OP has to either make money while he can or put his foot down and risk leaving.

Or as most truck drivers do, put his foot down and grab the load and go.

Try AMX in Al. Or if you can run teams, try RRR Calhoun Ga. They are normal. Not vindictive in any way. You do your job, not complaining nor tearing up equipment, you will do fine at either one of them.
No need not to go home after you have done your fair share of work.

I agree, don't be a job hopper. That doesn't mean stick with a job that doesn't meet your needs though. It sounds like you made a good effort to make sure the current job would meet your needs and you also made a good effort to work with them when things changed. It happens, hopefully the next one works out.

Two reasons I will leave a carrier and go somewhere else:

    1) Money

    2)Hometime.

I gotta make the money. It is why I'm out here working to begin with. And when it's time to head for the barn for some R&R, then it's time to head to the barn. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Understand, I will stay out to move the freight, especially when I'm seeing a nice boost to the old paycheck for doing so. Freight movement is my money-maker. But when I'm done, I'm done! Maxed out, burned out on traffic, need some serious downtime oit of the truck and in my own bed (at least a couple days worth).
