Old fashion here. Still call. Not only to let the dispatch know I am loaded or unloaded I can get any updates or changes that were made.
Do company drivers call to send in your empty and leaving shipper?

Yeah the problem is that some places like Chicago for example the second you get your bills you have to rush out of there since there are 50 pissed off truckers in line waiting for your door and my there is no where to stop and park to call in and read all of my paperwork to the dispatcher. Before I just shot off a quick message that I was loaded and would go.
GA-TRUCKER Thanks this. -
I agree with you on that!

Here we just fill out workflow and thats it. If i dont have a preassign, i usually send a message after light turns green and then while I am filling out the workflow, i get a load. I try to waste as less time as i can.

If I am staying ON DUTY, I will fill out everything on my loaded call but the time. I fill that out after I get papers and roll.

We use People Net EOBR. Most of the time I get my next load assignments when I'm within 10-20 miles of my delivery destination. Rarely do I have to call to let him know I need my next load.
