Perfectly legal and feasible. Won't be cali compliant so you will have to limit your cali running like i do. If not based in cali you can apply fire 1 of 2 annual permits. A:greenzones, unlimited miles. B: all over cali but only 1k miles annual.
depending on which model of the 3406 you wanted, it can be practically a drop in engine swap for the 3406B mechanical. Or you will need to have wiring harnesses made to run the ecm on a 3406E.

I disagree that Bruce bares no responsibility. It would seem if you are in the business of building high performance engines, to sell one to somebody who has no clue how to use it, is irresponsible. There aren't enough customers who will buy his gliders?
In the end, you may be right. Jeff may have decided that he bares much responsibility in getting into something over his head. -
Im sorry but i strongly disagree. To me saying bruce should not have built this engine for jeff (no clue how to use it) is like saying chevy should never sell a hopped up corvette to a guy that doesn't have experience with high performance cars. Or better analogy, summit racing shouldn't sell their high performance products to the general public with no experience with high power. Motorcycle dealers shouldn't sell me a crotch rocket unless I've had a lot of experience on fast bikes. Etc etc.
Side note: as far as i am aware pp does not sell gliders. The glider was built by someone else through Kevin and pp only did the engine work and other addons. -
You are entitled to your opinions, but not your own facts. Maybe they're not making them anymore, but here is an article and pictures of one.

I found it on their website. Gliders are one of their services.

As far as selling to Jeff and Cathy, this glider was made in the public's eye. It was the culmination of KR's obsession with fuel mileage and Bruce's desire to build a trouble free truck. They were less selling the truck to Jeff, than using him to advertise their success!
Your comparison to a racing car is appropriate, but not in the way you suggest. It is more like a racing team allowing a rich man to buy his way to be the driver, then complain that he didn't know how to drive, that's why it blew up. You don't think this guy should drive your product? Then don't make him the center of your media show for that product!Terry270, Hammer166 and pearcetrucking Thank this. -
Bruce built the glider. The pictures and write up is all on the Track That Truck Facebook page.

That engine was at best warmed over, hardly hopped up. I meet Jeff and seen the engine torn down. It was a disaster area. So many things done wrong. This engine would have had the same out come regardless of who was driving it.
Terry270, Bean Jr., Hammer166 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Slow down a second. You are confusing a finished glider dealer like Fitzgerald that buys glider kits from the manufacturers, builds them and the sells them. Pp doesn't do this. If you buy a glider from freightliner or kw or any of the other manufacturers, you can then go to pp and have them do the engine and tranny install. Big difference.
