It was covered by warranty but the air freight was over $600. The DD16 one box is closer to $10,000. They had the one box for the DD15 in stock!

We have 3 2011 DD15s and 5 2012 DD15s, we were specifically told not to purchase the 1-Box warranty because Detroit was "years ahead of the competition!". The Detroit rep specifically said not to buy it, just the support systems warranty (sensors, wiring, etc.) 7 of the 8 have had to be replaced at a cost averaging $9500. They're junk, the reason the whole box has to be replaced is because the SCR is welded in there as opposed to an ISX where the SCR can be removed and replaced individually. Add to that dozens of DEF pumps, switching valves, sensors and even one with a new engine at 198k (air compressor came apart and punched a hole right through the block), none of which was initially warrantied by Detroit. After fighting tooth and nail FL managed to get some policy coverage out of it. Literally two of our Coronados had 300 days of downtime between them in one year. We value our time and money here, unfortunately we won't be getting either back.

the 1 box goes bad because of overfueling injectors in 99% . Otherwise DOC and SCR are lifetime parts. My friends truck had NOx conversion problem two years ago(2011 Cascadia). The idiots from freightliner changed the 1 box. Week later the problem came back again. I fixed the truck . The little mesh was half clogged in def metering unit. On my truck Nox conversion problem was related to emission valve. $180 value of that ####ty pneumatic valve. Everybody know dealers need our money and they will always try to take more out of ours pocket.

F..... the Volvo expensive parts. Wait for the Tesla truck! When they come around - I am buying one! No oil, no coolant, no egr, no dpf, forget all that. Just electric motor with maybe very minimal transmission or not. This is the future!

F....... all MONEY HUNGRY Dealers and repair shops, that are throwing parts until they get lucky and actually fixed the problem. Friend of mine purchased Tesla, 250 miles with one charge. He said to me: This is the best car I ever had! Nothing brakes down. I am only changing tires and brake pads.

What was there reason for replacing the one box? Was the scr internally damaged? During the Regen was the outlet temp higher then the inlet? Or was it just for nox conversions and did they make sure there not a upstream failure. It seems like the first shop couldn’t fix it. The second shop threw a nox sensor on it and might just be throwing a 1 box on it since they don’t know what’s wrong.
