Sad indeed. May they rest in peace.
The accident I remember most was a whole family. Dad feel asleep in the middle of the afternoon after his wife picked him up from the airport coming back from a business trip. Crossed into the oncoming lane and went head on with a straight truck full of lumber. Nothing the kid driving the truck could have done. I often wonder about the kid (couldn't have been more than 19 or 20) driving that truck and if he found peace. I hope so.
Whether the driver was right or wrong in this case - he'll have to live with what he's done and that's a pretty tough nut to carry the rest of your life.

Guys, I have to admit I sometimes text while I drive. I have a problem. I gotta work at stopping my stupidity. Even if for a moment, that moment could result in me crashing into people. I've got to figure out how to destroy a bad habit I've let continue. Tips and advice are welcomed.
bzinger Thanks this. -
We have a lot of perfect drivers on here that will be along shortly. They don't give actual advice though, usually they are just looking for a place to set down their pedestal.
I would say just stop doing it.Cledus Snow and osokusmc Thank this. -
I doubt you are serious here. But if you are, just turn the dam thing OFF when driving.

I am serious.

It's after the fact and I'm not judging tho the evidence doesent look good for the truck driver .
Either way everyone has to be on they're A game in construction zones .
This isn't the first wreck in that zone either .
Sad day in my home state .truckthatpassesyouby Thanks this. -
Fyi that zone is easy to go around it starts at brule on the east and ends at big spring on the west .
Get off at brule or big spring and go north to 30 takes ya right around it .LindaPV Thanks this. -
The fact is truck drivers need to be on alert at all times, especially because the 4 wheelers are on their phones. The only way to be safe is put the phone away. I passed more than 1 truck on I-5 yesterday talking on the phone, with no clue they were only going 48 mph.
Dave_in_AZ and bzinger Thank this. -
Put the phone in the back where you can't get to it. You'll still be able to make and receive calls through your headset. But the temptation to just pick it up and look at it will be gone.truckthatpassesyouby, bzinger and Newbeav Newbie Thank this.

Are you just venting or did someone really get a quarter million bail for fish and game violations?
