Well, i guess enough complained so they gave in and gave them their orientaion money. Word to teh eise to anyone thinking of going there for school, they have changed their policy on orientation pay and they will no long give it until you have a load. They told Wayne they just passed it but probably because they were told they would get it sooner, they gave in. Wayne leaves tomorrow sometime so hopefully everything else goes smooth after this snag.

wolfden,
Good grief. What is going on with this industry? Why do you put up with this? I sure hope that your significant other wakes up and realizes what he is getting into. I see where they finally paid them. Does he still want to work for them? I would be running for the hills!
I have never worked for anyone that ever treated or lied to people like they did. It makes me want to throw up. No offense but why did you pick them? This seems to be a good industry for about 10% of the drivers. The rest are just spinning their wheels, making a substandard wage and finding it acceptable. I don't get it?
People have spent many hours on here trying to explain bad companies and who to avoid. It seems to fall on deaf ears. Why? Why don't people do their research and avoid these companies?
Here is a little help for you and others. If you see an ad for them in a truckstop magazine, avoid them. Check the forum on here called Motor Carrier Questions. Avoid about 95% of those listed at the top of the page. They promise the world to get you to sign on, only to deliver a meager existance at best.
I truly hope everything works out for you.
Drive safe -
We chose them because it seemed like the one with the least amount of complaints. He really wants this to work. We are just trying to do something better for our family. He is a electrician by trade and is tired of layoffs and the hell it plays with the body. We're not getting any younger.

Its is very frustrating. I also thought Central was one of the better companies and they were, at one time I understand. Even coming out of a private truck school your options are limited to who you can work for now. A year ago, Interstate Dist. took new students, now they dont. Even Central wont take students from other schools. Like wolfden's husband I took a chance and quite my job to attend the Central school, which is a good school ( I thought). All these companies promise the world, not many deliver. This website did help me make the Central decision because at the time there was not any bad Central comments I could find. It seems just in the past few months they are headed downhill. I liked driving a truck but my wife and I decided just not worth the headache or stress. I do admire those who have made a great career out of this industry because it is tough and I have to admit, I did learn alot about this industry............ Hang in there Wolfden, things will work out
by the way, you still in Laughlin??
-
Yep, still lin Laughlin. One thing i did not miss about Laughlin was the heat. He called me again and told me how he got paid. I guess his trainer got him paid. He called his DM and told him to add him to the load he was on to get him paid. Others weren't so lucky. His roomy still has to wait until tomorrow. Wayne leaves for Reno tomorrow, then to Cali. He is on a Dole dedicated run. His trainer said he takes the 40 a lot on this run so he may be able to stop in time to time to spend a few hours with us. I am just hoping time goes by fast so we can get this over with....lol...I am at my in laws for now until he finishes.
-
Glad hes on his way, I started on the Dole dedicated myself. Well if you get to the store in Laughlin my wife works there, just look for the youngest looking one there......lol
-
Lol, Aldope's? Down there a lot....Kids always wanting ice cream.....lol

It is only the last few months that Central has gone to hell in a hand basket
When JJ started with them he was happy, its only the last few weeks that the miles have been short. They are like any big company trying to save money at the drivers expense.
I hope things work out for you and Wayne with Central, tell him to remember he can deal with anything for a year and then he can move on to a better Company, without owing Central for the school. -
Yeh, if you see her, say hi...... -
I'm just sitting back reading the mail because it seems nobody wanted to listen when I tried to steer you all clear of central. So, I'm just looking and listening to your complaints. Not to rain on anyone's parade, but this is only the beginning.
You can hope all you want, but the reality of it all is, central doesn't give a #### about it's drivers and the only way some people will realize it is to experience it for themselves. In the year that I put up with central I'd say for every driver that could honestly say they had a good experience there, there are 5 drivers to say they didn't. Good luck you're going to need it.Last edited: Aug 22, 2008
