Why was load rejected? Did a USDA inspector look at them or was it a case of there looking for a better price on melons. Or they over ordered which late in season happens. And i always like calling ahead to make sure and confirm appointments that way you don't have any surprises.
What's a fair price to charge a broker ??

I learned the same lesson hauling furniture. After running a load that took 10 hrs to unload and then having another one take 7, I never took another furniture load again!

If its Walmart, charge $400 per day plus 1.5x rate of mileage. The broker is making money out of this. I can guarantee you.freight-time Thanks this.

I second this, had a driver who took a Walmart load that turned into a nightmare thanks to the broker that the company was using. Never again.freight-time Thanks this.
