So, I just bought an 09 Columbia with Detroit engine. I'm in Connecticut and the truck is from Florida. I completely forgot to check if it has a block heater and guess what, it doesn't - Florida, you know. So, does anyone know the procedure for doing that?
I see the kits on eBay, but what does the element actually bolt into?

A block heater is not bad to install on a S60. You just have to remove a plug in the oil cooler and it screws in the plug hole, put a little pipe dope on it. Just make sure to tie up the wiring good and away from the exhaust. I like to mount the plug on the passenger side unless you need it on the drivers side, it's easier to route the wire neatly.
tallmon Thanks this. -
This is the location on a 12.7 as Grape described, you will want to drain coolant before taking that plug out. -
Probably spill more draining it. I'd have everything ready to go and then be quick about it.

On a 2012 freightliner cascadia does anyone have pictures of setup or diagram of how the block heater is connected or setup?

Check the pictures above.
