I slid my tandems, flipped the lever to lock them and walked inside the guard house and a middle aged female security guard ask me why I didn't pull up to the white line, I was about 8 feet from it, I had to pull up before she would come out,
She wasn't going to walk the extra distance to look in the back.
She was a ####.
On the way out, the other guard told me she was like that to everyone

Myself, im pretty sure Security looks up to Professional Drivers. And in return i have only praise for the great responsibility their position entrusts them with.

In all fairness, I don't have a particularly high opinion of security guards, either. Not just at shippers/receivers, but in general. A vast majority of them seem to me to be washouts from the police academy who like to dress up and carry themselves like cops, to the point they forget the limitations of their authority.
BUMBACLADWAR Thanks this. -
I was a security guard for about 2 months. The first week of training was all about how we're basically not even allowed to defend ourselves, so I got out of that line of work pdq.

I was given a set of their tires once as a present, pretty inadequate at 135/75/14's Lost the vehicle in the rain one day got it back with the help of a guard rail. These days I run nothing less than 225's on the car and 265's on the truck. Those tires cost money in terms of body work and repairs more than they were worth. Was I speeding? Not that day, what happens was it's a S curve to a stop sign, I added more brakes to make sure I stopped as a Datsun inside with family pulled out in front obviously forgiven for not being able to see me coming what with the thick bushes and all. The tiny rubber quit traction and whole thing slid. And rightfully so.
Never again.
Remind me not to purchase anymore Coopers out of feelings of support for you. I don't think that Captain did anyone any favors yelling.
Im leaning towards Michelins or Hankooks due to the 3000 pound carrying capacity for the half ton bed and deck back there. I cut trees with a stihl now and then and donate same to cold families that need the wood stove for the coming winter. I lost track of how many we kept warm over the years. -
Most of them are pretty good to deal with considering they go through the same thing repeatedly. Like explaining procedure/policy to "new" people all day long.
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
That is a nice gesture!!!
I do run michelin too they are well worth the money, afterall my family is in that car.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Im getting ready to purchase a set myself.
Thank you kindly for the kind words. Michelin it is. I think the United States enacted protectionist tariffs to import tires a couple of years ago, tires increased by about 20% to us across the board for non American ones. but wonder if Michelin being produced here in the USA? I would love it if they were.
