The way i look at it is, no matter where you work, you always have to put up with some BS or one reason or another. Even in construction he had to put up with GC's telling him how to do his job, or to do a shotty job just to get the work done faster. He hated it and got removed from job sites for refusing to do bad work. Ally uo can do is move on from it. You stay bitter, it does nothing for you. He even stayed working for a company who's paycheck pounced. They fixed it right away and filled his tank, but he stuck with it because we needed the money. A couple months later, he found something new. Same is gonna go with trucking. I'll bet, every trucking company business working has some bitter employees. It happens. Not everyone is made to be with the same company. He has 1 year to make it here. If not, he finds something new. Thats called life. Until then, he makes the best of it. His buddy has already left and his trainer should be there in a hour. He was pickign up a load in UT. I will be here to support him in anything he wants to do.

Good grief! These people are hard to get in contact with. After finally faxing in my info and online application, I have not heard a peep, and left 3 unreturned phone messages to get confirmation if my fax/application even got through, so I tried to email the recruiter I was in contact with...
I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not

There is something you don't understand with the jobs you talked about he was able to be home every night in the comfort of his own. Out here sitt'n in some truck stop wait'n to get a load something to get you mov'n and liv'n out of notthing more then less then 40 sq ft your attitude will change. Every job has it's B/S but when you can go home be with wife and or kids well the B/S goes away not so much control not that way out here. There is no going home best thing you have is a phone. A job change is finding someone new to hire you and still being home at night this is a lifestyle change. The problem is not every shoe fits same with trucking companies what you read dosen't always work for the reader.
I'm in AR. doing a reset due to a load I took that sucked up hours and if I hadn't done that load the next load preset would have been tak'n away. I was to have been home on the 20th it's the 22nd been here sience 13:00 Thursday won't leave till midnite or Sat.AM going to SLC by the 26th. when he gets done with training he will look at this in a different manner.
I hope things work out for you but don't be surprised if they don't.
6pak just post'n my thoughts

So you are saying he should just give up now and go back to unemployment? He passed up the job that was offered for this. Electrical work is slow right now with the economy. Over 300 people were laid off in Vegas. It took a month and a half to find the one he was offered and for lower pay then what he used to get and would have to live in Vegas. We do not want to raise our kids there. Not being in construction, i guess some don't realize it. Yes he was able to be home, but he has aways liked driving and wanted to go with this. I stood by him. Construction was taking a toll on him. Even if it doesn't work with Central, he still has a CDL and has options. There are always jobs for drivers. If you are unhappy, change jobs. This is not a lifestyle, it's still just a job. We have been seperated before because of work so how is it gonna be any different? He was gone 2-3 weeks at a time, home for the weekend and gone on Monday. We are willing to make sacrifices.

You will soon go broke and you will never own the truck. I leased purchased a truck there and wound up $6700.00 in debt. Truck was repoed and went back to them at close to lease end. Both myself and a friend of mine there since 2000 now work for someone else. All CRS wants is drivers with VERY little experience. Most ALL CRS drivers have less than 2 years exp because that's what Central wants..people with little to no trucking experience.
I hear now that CRS is trying to CHARGE their own drivers for idle over 30% --- what a crock of #$%^.
If you want to drive for a company...see how many people have been there over 5 to 10 years and STILL happy. Not training companies. -
No I did not say he should quit and I'm sorry if you took what I said wrong. A CDL dose open doors and there are some good jobs out there. As for me I am looking at another job. Central is changing and I do wish him the best but in time you will look at this in a differnt manner.
Trucking is a lifestyle and it dose take it's toll on people. -
Well I guess the lease operators find out the hard way that if they don't get the miles, the #### can hit the fan and you go broke while Central makes the money.

I agree with King hunter on the lease thing.
It is set up to where the only way you can make money is to team or train.
You will have some good weeks, and maybe good months. If you are careful and run it as a business you can do ok, but with one decent breakdown you are broke.
I make ok money there as a company driver. I have no complaints about my loads or income. I just needed to be home more. -
Chrome,
I agree thats the only way as your clean oiled machine running non stop or getting paid extra to team. Their was one couple on here who worked for Werner who made it and they teamed. A couple of people mentioned to John not to lease as that would happen; the miles go down and you go broke and wind up in debt.

Hello all...
Long time, no see.
Well as soon as I hit the road things went to hell some of witch were my fault, but not all. Its nice to see I'm not the only one with "the company is ##### me" story, I too have been left out to dry if you will.
Been stuck in SLC for 4 days with no way out?... Check.
Been out WAY past your home time?... Check.
Been given the run around just to get as much work out of you for as little pay as possible?... Check.
I'm doing my year, then getting the hell out of here. Everything started off great, but then the real Central started to show. How these companies can get away with treating people like this is beyond me.
Oh & to JJ, If you want miles fire your DM & go to the load planers yourself. No Owner Op. should deal with a DM, you are your own boss. I have spoken with a few of the lease drivers that have done this & are getting what they need.
