The reason that you haven't seen me on here for awhile is....I have sold my company and have been dealing with all the issues related to the sale.

The company that I was doing the white glove service for sold out to one of the larger furniture manufacturers that operate their own private fleet. As part of the sale of the manufacturer that I was hauling for, the buyer also wanted to buy me out due to the highly specialized equipment that I owned to haul this product and also for my highly skilled employees that have been doing it for years. I was able to negotiate on behalf of my drivers so that none of them would lose any pay or benefits for at least five years, so most of them are happy and are going to work for the new company under those terms. I was also offered an upper management position in the new companies transportation division, but I declined. I am not the type who could work in an office, nor could I be happy working for someone else.

Where do I go from here? I am not sure yet excatly what I will do, but It will definitely involve owning a truck(s) and driving a truck. I don't know if I am going to just buy a truck and lease to a company or if I will activate another authority and haul produce for some of my existing contacts. I am way to young to retire and even if I wanted to do that, I would grow bored in a matter of weeks. I can only play so much golf...lol Anyhow, there is your update as to my life of late.

Glad to see that you had a happy ending to your company. Many trucking companies went to the trash heap.

If I did that, I'd have to have a 244" sleeper built so that I would have a seperate apartment for my hired helpers cuz with that kind of truck I'd have to become a bedbugger or something. God knows I am too lazy to be a HHG mover and would have to hire a couple of young 'uns as full time labor.LOL

    CONGRATS DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I'm jealous. lol

Buy your dream truck and either go indy or lease on. Just run one truck, you'll have less headaches.
