I've been thinking the same. But, I have some left from the retainer, and he is the BEST around here. He knows the judge, and has won a lot of big cases. Some have gone all the way to the Supreme Court, and won!
-
But wouldn't that be double jeopardy?
-
The one you used did not know you were going to be out of buss. if you pled the way they told you to ,They helped me and the call is free come back and tell what they charge? to reopen your case?
-
What county are you in !
-
Problem as I see it is your lawyer already negotiated a deal for you through the DA or plaintiffs attorney. For him now to appeal it would make him look like an idiot. Also the fact you were promised not to lose your license and yet you ultimately did. Me I'd probably file a complaint against with the bar association against that lawyer. Really, talk to another unbiased attorney and see what if anything can be done. Likely they'll charge you a consult fee but it will get you piece of mind.rabbiporkchop, bottomhoppercrew and bzinger Thank this.

You may be screwed. ....found this from a legal site "as a general rule, when a defendant enters into a plea agreement with the State, and pleads guilty, the defendant waives his/her rights to appeal the conviction."
Unless I've totally misread your op and you are talking about appealing the DMV decision to revoked your license.. -
Big 10 good buddy! I think his reputation could be part of the reason why he isn't anxious to get on the case. I think you hit the nail on the head!
PS thanks everyone for the replies! -
No, the letter says I have 30 days to appeal from the DMV. Plus I plead no contest.
The letter itself says:
Any person aggrieved by the Notice of Revocation may appeal the revocation to the District Court of the county of residence or in the case of a nonresident, to the district court of Lancaster County in the manner set forth in Section 60-4,105 and 60-4,140 within 30 days of the date of this notice.Last edited: Aug 8, 2016

Find another lawyer ASAP. The lawyer you have now is avoiding you because he's in over his head on this one.MidwestResident, redoctober83 and bottomhoppercrew Thank this.
