Based in San Diego county, CA. Experienced with most types of hauling including van, reefer and flatbed (flat, drop, equipment). Looking for an OTR solo position of any kind. W2 or 1099 is fine.
I drove from 1998-2004. Took a break from driving to work in aerospace until last year. I upgraded back to a Class A with all endorsements (TPX). I drove for a while with an independent earlier this year, but he failed to pay me for several weeks and I of course had to leave his company over that. Right after leaving his company I was offered a city job that I decided to try. It just isn't a very good job and I want to head back out on the road where I belong.
The issue is that companies won't hire me without more "recent" experience. My long-term goal is to own my own truck, whether leased on with a company or with my OA. But to do that I need more recent experience, not just for a company, but for myself. I would like another year or so on the road before I consider buying a truck.
All miles ever driven are accident and incident free (probably somewhere in the 400k-500k mile range?). I'm comfortable with paper or e-logs. Prefer to stay out 2-3 weeks and home 2-3 days. Experienced with 10, 13, 15 and 18 speeds. (I have not yet driven an auto, but no issues with it if assigned). Always respectful to the equipment. I even detailed the truck before quitting the last OTR company, as that's just good ethics.
Basically, if you're looking for a driver that already knows what they're doing, but is willing to learn your way, or just grab and run, then I'm your driver. All I ask is that you can get me home, and that you can actually pay me. I do prefer a W2 position, but if they pay is enough to cover my tax requirements, then I don't mind 1099.
I'll be honest and say I'm not a fan of tarping, but then, who is? And, although I have my X endorsement, I have not pulled a tanker.
I'm available to start as soon as you need me. I would like to give proper notice to my current employer, but it isn't a requirement. If you're interested, please message me and we can talk. I'm open to all ideas.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
SoCal driver. Looking for OTR, Regional, or anything. All Endorsements (TPX).
