1500 after 6 months...or maybe more to schools they recruit out of....they didn't recruit at the school I went to I just get the 1500 which is hardly reimbursement

What is is with trucking? It is one of the few professions I know where people fully expect to be educated and trained for the profession by the company that hires them.

Want to be a CPA? Go to college, get your education, pass the CPA exam, and then you can apply for work as a CPA.

Want to be a nurse? You don't apply to a hospital for an RN position expecting that the hospital will provide the training and education needed to function in that position.

I suppose the thought is "it's only driving", so why treat it like a "real" career. Which, of course, is why the industry seems to attract so many low quality applicants.

IT is the same type of mentality that a large portion of they buying public uses when buying a car. The always want to buy with "no money down" and then they wonder why in 2 years they owe $10,000 more than the car is worth. They have no "skin in the game" So now they are stuck with a car they don't like anymore, when if they would have purchased a car they could afford with a reasonable down payment they would be much happier and not a prisoner to their own bad decisions.

If people would invest in themselves, and get their own driving training at a community college, or independent driving school, they would not end up being a prisoner to their bad career decisions.

Huh? Funny how some people on here have viewpoint on stuff nobody asked them an opinion on.

Since you're obviously offering, if you can find me a trustworthy CDL school in GA I can go to without worrying that it's a CDL mill, I'm all ears. And I know most tech schools take longer to train so that's out the question unless you want to pay my mortgage for a little while.

I need to go to school that can guarantee me a job when I get my CDL, so I figured that going to company sponsored program would make the most logical choice. Thanks for the "advice" I didn't ask for though. Happy trolling.

Um, no. I didn't go to school for 3 weeks to get professional licensure as "unskilled labor."
