Right now my 1995 w900b daycab, 215" wheelbase doesn't turn near as short as my previous truck, a 94 379 regular hood daycab 200" wheelbase. This kW has the steering box ahead of the axle, I've noticed some w900's have the steering box mounted behind the axle, does that arrangement turn any shorter?? Right now while turning right the tire rubs rather hard on the pitman arm so that's it for shortness right? Also it turns about the same going left but either way my peterbilt turned noticeably shorter dang it. Short dump trailer construction work so turning radius sure comes in handy
Tighter turning radius on my w900b?

Your not going to make it turn any shorter if it's already rubbing. You got what you got there.
Rubbing on the pitman like that will cause you some real problems if you get pulled into an inspection also.snowman_w900 Thanks this. -
My 95 W900L does the exact same thing. It's a fact of life. W900s are 1500 lbs heavier than 379s on average and have a far worse turning radius.
The w900s shine when you get off the pavement though. -
Need to clean that pitman up, and hit it with a shot of paint. Like swann said dot would love that.
The other steering box set up, the pitman hits the battery box,so you gain nothing.
