Keep looking... There will be a company out there for you...
Not sure Abilene would be able to get you home weekly but you might give them a call.
And I agree, if they only ask for three years then don't say anything... It's outside there scope and not worth bringing up unless they do later. But at that point, you did answer them honestly.
Will I be able to work for a big company?

I have found two candidates I think are good and maybe a third.
1) knight transport. Pros no additional training. Cons only home every 7 days not necessarily weekends. Pay $1000 a week
2) TMC. Pros home almost every weekend. Cons. Three to Five weeks of training at only 500 a week. Then $1000 to $1300 a week.
3) Averitt. Pros home every weekend pay $1225 a week. Cons 1 to 3 weeks of training at $600 a week.
What do yall think of those. And do you have any other ones to offer -
I tried to get on with Knight and just kept getting the run around.... I wasn't even looking at other companies... (Long story deleted here) ... Then like three days after signing on with Abilene, yup you guessed it, then they wanted to talk to me and emailing me. {shrug}
Other aspect of the company didn't impress me either but that's based solely on my experience with them.
As to Averitt, I think I have heard good things about them but could not swear to it. Of the three seems Averitt has the best mix. Unless you don't want any training time... But only 1-3 weeks and better weekends, better pay, etc.
Again, I never worked at any if them but of those three, seems Averitt is the best choice based on information listed above.
Good LuckRobertreg1987 Thanks this. -
I agree that averitt seems the best so far.
I am wondering if there are any others with weekly home time that pay more.
I came from the oil field. Brining home over 2000 for one week and being off for the next week. So it was 2000 every two weeks and would like to get back close to that range. Even averitt which is the highest average I have found is only going to be a little over 900 a week after taxes.
Am I asking for too much with the little experience I have and wanting home every week? Or is this something I could reasonably acheive? -
