I didn't say bring a weapon. I only said present my permits. That should convince anyone of the ability to pass any background checks.

Nobody needs anyone elses SSN except someone that's up to no good.

Depends on where you live, if the state legislators have enacted a law that states displaying a "No Guns Allowed" sign creates a lawfully protected area in which guns are not allowed, then you have a problem. Just because a certain shipper/ receiver/ business etc, puts up a sign doesn't mean it's law. And as far as some pinhead asking for my SSN, he can have it when he pries it out of my cold dead hands.

Heck, I was thinking the Gun Free Zone was designated a safe haven....but with all these state and local ordinance for trampling on the 2nd I'm not sure. CCW permits are good in the state of issue....some boy might get tangled up by a local sheriff with a bad case of shoot first ask later. Oh, yea, BTW transporting a registered gun is a whole can of trouble for the gun owner should he forget that little detail from CCW class.

Now where were we.....oh yeah, do not speak to police. Remain calm and give them licence, registration and proof of valid insurance.....and keep both hands in visible sight.

You have a right to refuse to answer any questions that may be used to incriminate youself, inluding where you are from and where you are heading.

Why do they need your SS#? Its a tax I. D. Number.....they dont, so tell them try again! Offer something like a state issued CDL or some other form of picture ID (TWIC) which is a Federal ID.

Oh I wholeheartedly agree. I believe most businesses put up those signs to cover their tails if some deranged individual decides to shoot and people are injured or killed. "We put up signs, they're not supposed to have guns on our property" Yeah, a sign is gonna stop a crazy.

Had a receiver's rent-a-cop ask for a fingerprint capture for check-in. I refused and asked for a supervisor while letting my dispatch know. My company backed me up and a sup showed up saying that they would let me pass with a just taking a picture.

They said that no one ever refused before, as if that made any difference to me...

I used to do that to buddies and make the name out as Ima Gay and stupid #### like that. Ahhhh think I'll do that again!

To the grocery store!!! Don't think I've ever paid for a magazine. I just stand there and read it by the rack and put it back or used to anyway.
