In Europe, I can understand their total vehicle length laws. North America ditched those rules decades ago. No need to cramp a driver here in some POS cab-over...

New York State, and New York City both have total vehicle length laws when you travel on roads that aren't Interstate highways. In NYC, the total vehicle length is only enforced when something else gets the attention of NYPD - like when you hit or damage something or someone. In New York State, it's enforced on a whim.
