This is the second trailer of my set. These poor trailers are only about 10 years old but they are really far gone as far as looks go. Completely covered in cement. I have no experience in the upkeep of these in this line of work. I don't have a ton of time but I'd like to make them look somewhat better than this! Guess I was spoiled with a polished set of tanks when I hauled fuel. I have access to drum acid that the mixer trucks use but those are a painted surface- not sure what they would do to these.

It looks mechanically good. I run it as is and keep the money.

Haha 10-4 it's very mechanically sound. I can clean it up a little here and there on the clock.

I grew up near the cement belt in PA when you always knew the car of someone who lived near the mills because of the grey cast over the original color.

Years later I saw a driver upset because his new tractor had sat in Nazareth and was covered with cement dust. The mills used to open the dust collectors when it rained, you could see the cement falling with the rain in the street lights...

Vinegar [Acetic Acid] mixed with water cleaned his truck.

We used Muriatic acid [dilute hydrochloric] to clean the tractors at the cement terminal. turns chrome black...

You should have luck with aluminum brightener if it is an aluminum tank.

Thank you. Found a spray bottle of vinegar in the truck. Was wondering what that was for

So vinegar breaks down the concrete? What about using acid?

Even through the grime it looks to just be aluminum right? Acid is what you want but I'd be careful on using one that's not for Aluminum. I'd grab a gallon of Alumawash and drench it. It will take a couple times before you get it clean and get rid of the streaks but should look pretty descent. With descent soaking you may get a milky look but thats still way better than it is currently and easy to fix.
