It's a regional truck. I kept hereing that all the cascadias would be gone by the end of July. Yet here we are in August.
Can someone answer a few of my questions for Millis?

Does Millis require you to take their own physical? I already have a valid Fed Med card.
-
if it's less than 90 days old when you start you should be ok. if not, they take everyone for a dot physical on the first day of orientation at no charge.
-
I read on the website, your paid during classroom training, and .25 per mile on the trainers truck, is that what it changed to now?
-
You aren't paid during the 3 weeks of school but once on trainers truck you are paid .25 per mile for every mile truck is dispatched on. Doesn't matter if you or your trainers drives your both paid all the miles
-
Not to kick a dead horse by any means but you do get $0.36 cpm once your solo right? Atleast thats what I've read on the website.
Didn't find anything about being paid $0.25 cpm when in the trainer's truck though.
It just says this
Trainee Pay
Days 1-21: $72 per day
Days 22-35: $78 per day
Days 36 +: $86 per day -
That is the old training pay rate. Must not have updated the web site.
Yes .36 solo to start once you've finished training. If you take per diem it is .31 per mile. I do not suggest per diem because you are giving up .05 per mile in pay, every mile, to get a tax break up front that you can likely can claim at tax filing time anyway, while being paid at the higher rate .
Straight or per diem is your choice. No pressure but they do try to make per diem sound great by offering little bennies to take it and make you think you are getting over on the tax man. Question you have to ask yourself is IF it is so great for ME than why do you offer me extra benefits to take it..?
New pay package coming Jan 1st which has not been put out yet. Turning trucks up to 70 mph for experienced drivers as long as you meet fuel compliance and idle time and don't mess up.Quackers Thanks this. -
Yeah I wasn't considering per diem for that same reason lol. I just hate dealing with the IRS more than I would have to.
JOHNQPUBLIC Thanks this.
