For those using satellite radio, do you have a preference of receivers?

Im all over the place, lol. I have XM radio so I flip channels alot. However in the mornign I mostly listen to Dave Nemo on 171..although his numerous commercials push me to change the channel quite a bit in the morning.

I listen to Glenn Beck on 165 for a while. Then Dave Ramsey in the afternoon.

As I flip channels I lsiten to country, christian, deep tracks on 49, whatever is on 22 that I like, lol. I also listen to the dance channel BPM on 81...keeps my ADHD in check.

I hvae Itunes on my computer and will swipe my wifes MP3 player to listen to it as well. I usually listen to:
    Common Sense with Dan Carlin
    This American Life
    Writers Almanac
    wait wait dont tell me
    60 second science
.......and I was going to list more but as i just opened up Itunes...I found everything was erased......just wonderful!

I have the Xpress. Eh, it works. But I think when you go shopping for one, think trucker. The buttons are chromed shiney silver with lighted numbers and its hard to tell what the numbers are during the day. Plus the screen doesnt change color like some other radios do. its hard on the eyes at night when its dark..as it lights up fairly bright.

A preference? One VERY important thing to me is the "Replay" feature on my Sirius radio (XM also has it). Make sure to get a radio that'll let you pause, fast forward, rewind, etc. It's very convenient to be able to pause while you run in to use the RR, eat, or talk to the customer. The best part isn't the pause, it's the fact that you'll have something like 45 minutes in the buffer. If you don't like the song, skip it, until you eventually catch up with the "live" radio.

Plus, on the talk channels, you can build up the buffer and skip entirely over the commercials.

    ziggystyles Thanks this.

My hubby loves his XM Radio...I think that he would go nuts if something happened to it! I know I would and I have XM in all my personal vehicles.:biggrin_25526:

On the XM I listen to the "Decades" 60's, 70's, and 80's (I have to mix it up because even XM can be repetitious. The uncensored comedy on 150 is a go-to as well.

Kevin Retherford and his vast trucking knowledge is incredible as well as his guests. I also listen to Dave Ramsey talk money and enjoy listening to his callers yell "I'm debt free!"

I like Kevin too...when I started listening to him, I thought he was nuts when he was talking unlike most truckers...actually wanting fuel to go up...etc. Then i started to really think about his reasoning and how he got there and realized he really was right.

Dave is fun to listen to, but dang...waayyy too many commercials..Comes on at 6 past the hour, takes a break from 14-21 past the hour, then takes a break at 27ish to 36, 47-51, and then from 57- 06...insane. Plus he also has previously recorded shows airing without letting the listener know...drives me nuts when i can figure out the show is 6-12 months old...and then it gets me wondering how much he is actually live.
