Hello Im a new owner operator, I was just curious as to what to expect as far as rates go. Im looking at going from CA to TX hauling reefer (53 ft trailer). Ive been running that leased on and prefer the route. I know its a touchy subject because alot of people dont wanna let their rates be known. If someone could give me a hint that would be great. Ive seen the "Rate Check" on 123 Loadboard however its hard for me to believe the avg is 1.28/mile. I appreciate the help guys!

It's actually $1.00 even
Good thing you're doing this research before you buy a truck and trailer and not after!
That would be a terrific catastrophe in the making!MJ1657 Thanks this. -
That rate check deal on 123loadboard is pretty across the board accurate. Course I've only been using it since last December so I may be wrong.
alien4fish and CiccarelliTruckin Thank this. -
When there's peak freight in CA cause of produce, you can get 2-2.50 a mile to TX. When it dies down, you might get somewhere around 1.70 a mile. Now going back to CA, 99 percent of the time it's going to be somewhere between 1-1.50 a mile maybe.

Coming in to Cali is Crap but loads going out.....which is why sometimes its better for a dedhead back and start all over again, if that makes sense.............(at least for me)
