love to have info on roehl Trucking school.

    1) HOW ARE THE SLEEPING AREAS.(PRIVATE ROOMS,DOUBLES?)

    2) LIVING AREAS CLEAN. ALL IN ALL IS IT A NICE PLACE TO LIVE OR A HOLE IN THE WALL.

    3) HOW IS THE SCHOOL AND THE TRAINING ON THE ROAD FOR A NON SMOKER? (CAN YOU GET A REAL NON SMOKER AS A TRAINER ON THE ROAD)

    4) IS THIS TRUE. You're time off starts from when you go off-duty at your house, for example, if you had three days of hometime coming and you got home at 8pm on a Friday, 24 hours from that time would be one day off. So in this case you would come back to on-duty Monday night at 8pm, which would be 72 hours from when you went off-duty.

#1. They were putting people in apts. now they are putting them in the woodfield inn. I was there on a layover during EVO 1. Nice place and you get a room to yourself.

#2. See above. They might have a website, I never checked.

#3. Both are great. I am a non-smoker and have had non-smoking everything so far.

#4. Yep. Time off starts when you arrive home.

I am in securement training now and then I am out for EVO 2. I can't really say this place is better than any other cause I haven't worked for another OTR company. But it's been pretty darn good so far.

Sorry to steal your post for a bit. Can I ask some questions. Got a Pre-hire from Roehl Starting RDTC Sept. 15. Was offered anything but thinking of van and refer. Its kinda late and cant call my recruiter but wondering what the eating cituation is like?? What kind of resturants are near by or near the training facility???

About getting back and forth between the school and the facility I was told I would have to get my own ride back and forth. Rental car is $700. Is this the only real option??? He said they had cars to use during the weekend just not during the week ??

Is it cold up in WI in September??? I dont wanna get caught up there with out the proper clothing so im packing all I can in my suit case and flying up there. Not sure how im getting to the facility from there lol. We'll figure it out by then. THANKS

Why aren't you taking your own car to Maershfield? I did and they paid me the mileage upon graduation. Planty of eating places around. Reefer is kinda hard if your working out of Ellenwood. Good luck, not too cold in Sept I did RDTC last Oct and a light jacket was fine.

I have a lifted Jeep Grand Cherokee which gets crappy gas milage. Would cost to much. Plus im trying to keep my milage down as much as I can im gonna be selling/trading it in by the end of the year. Im upside down in it already sense the economy for SUV's has droped. Gonna cost around $250 to fly into Green Bay and $600 for a rental car for a 3 weeks + 2 days. Not to bad I can handle that I guess.

They gave me the option to run out of Ellenwood or Atlanta. Not sure where EllenWood is right now but Atlanta is around 60 miles NW of me. About a good hour and 20 min ride. Will probably go with Atlanta

Were they are housing students now is among all the eateries.Perkins,Culvers,Taco Bell,McD's,BK
The only other option on transportation is carpooling with someone from your class. The school is about 4 miles from motel.
As far as weather, I can't answer that one. I live in northeast TN.

    Good Luck

You might want to check if you can fly into Central Wisconsin Airport in Mosinee WI. Alot closer than Green Bay.

Atlanta treminal is Ellenwood. They also have a drop yard in Carnesville GA.
