Good luck in whatever you decide. It's a dirty world dealing with brokers.

I was looking at brand new trucks and I would like to have one.
I don't want to buy used because I would end up dumping a ton of money in it.
    ( someone else's headache)
Anyways, what is keeping from it are the rates and all the new regulations.
I run around 60 mph all the time for fuel mileage and the EOBR is gonna hurt me.
My old IH with a cummins is getting around 8.0 mpg's. That's $15,000 to $20,000 that I am not blowing out the pipes.
I'll give you an example, I pull a flatbed. This load I have now is around 10,000 lbs, legal load paying $4.07 a mile and the load I'm going to the house with is paying $2.80 a mile. Not great but gets me 30 miles from the house. Maybe do some local work Wednesday and Thursday and ride the bike the rest of the weekend.

    BlackKnight 918 Thanks this.

I'm leased to a company, but they leave me alone. I cover all expenses with the truck.
I pick my own frieght, negotiate my rates and I can load for anyone as long as they can pass credit check or prepay for the load.
I'm also paid within a few hours after I trans-flo my paperwork.
I have been leased on here for 5 years now and have a pretty good network of agents. I usually stay within a 300 mile radius of my house. I'm running long this weekend, 500 miles out. Lol

RERM and BlackKnight 918 Thank this.
