Hair testing

When I found out hair testing existed I read into it a bit after hearing the "it'll show all the drugs you've ever used in your entire life" myth and apparently it's not a very good test for infrequent marijuana users.
For example if you smoked weed once or twice in the past 3 months odds are you'll still pass the hair follicle test. Something to do with metabolites bonding to hair follicles, concentration levels, and the drugs cutoff levels, etc... Pretty interesting to read about honestly, our bodies are funny things.

On the other hand, heavy users can build up so much of the drug in their system that it takes months to get clean even for a urine test meaning the metabolite will continue to contaminate hair follicles long after usage has stopped.
So a person stops using drugs, the drugs in their system still grow into the hair follicle until it's completely out of their system, only at that point does the hair start growing "clean"
So I guess a fat person with a slow metabolism and an extremely heavy drug use history could potentially test positive after a year, but I doubt it.

The whole spinal tap for LSD thing is also a myth if anyone was curious.

But the best information you'll ever get on the subject is this, simply don't do drugs and you'll never need to worry about this crap lol

 

I remember every time guys were getting pulled for randoms, some of the guys that smoked would start sweating bullets. That always was funny and I'm so glad I don't have to stress about it, really just staying away from the stuff is the way to go. Nothing to worry about if you don't do anything.

 

Yeah inhear yah im just concerned how i passed my hair test with one company just last week and all of a.sudden they find something with this other company i applied for this week just doesnt make any sense

 

I understand being pissed about that.
Did they take the hair from the same location both times?
Different areas of the body excrete different levels of crap.
Even different areas of your head can have different deposits.

 

They were both taken from the crown of my head

 

As a general rule of thumb, your hair grows 1/2 inch per month. If you haven't smoked in 3 months than 1 1/2" of your hair would be clean. If it's 2" or longer it will be detected. Now if your hair is really long it could show up years from now.. Generally though, they need 1 1/2" to test so cutting it shorter than that won't help.

 

Yeah its just that i passed my hair test with one company last week and go.with a new company this week and now they said i test dirty doesnt make sense

 

Isn't it ironic that majority of companies that hair test, you would need to be high to work for? They need to switch to urine tests and pay their drivers more with the money they saved.

 

It all depends if they put it in your DAC. Check your DAC.
