I'm not for or against anyone who signs up for something like this opportunity.

But statements like this blow my mind,
Let's be clear what "Contact Labor" is in reality. ANY O/O or L/O is contact labor regardless of who's freight you pull.

A carpenter installing door knobs at 5$ a piece is contract labor. The IRS accepts this and there is never any issue.

However, if this company did anything other than tell the drive where the load is and a date and time to deliver than your an employee not a contractor.

If you lease to a company they have to state "No Forced Dispatch" because not doing so would mean the O/O that leased on is really an employee.

There are so many industries where the line between employee or contract labor is almost a blur.

I agree this job is nothing anyone should consider, however I think to portrait 1099 jobs as something only illegals or the less than desirable individuals of society is a travesty.

I made #### good money doing contract labor back in the day my best day was 876$ for 8 hours work and my nail bags.

1099 and a relatively low pay scale combined spells shady operation and shady operators. Period. Think what you want. I know people who do well on 1099 too, but they aren't working it for 38 cpm and you know it, too. I would not have made any such comment if I read 55 or 60 or even 50 CPM. I'm not the one here always saying how 1099 driving work is "not legal" in virtually all cases. But I know jobs marketed to drivers with less-then-stellar resumes or no US work history when I see it.
