anyone know if theres anyway to check fault codes on an n14 through the dash without having to go through cummins insite to check for codes, I know the isx15 can but Ive been used to working on mechanical n14's, started working for a new company and some of the older trucks have the celect plus with electronic injection and it comes up on the dash with the number of fault codes but waiting on laptops to come in from cummins, not for about 2 weeks and I have about 12 trucks and 24 trailers I need to fully inspect, service and repair by next Friday and I gotta get rid of those fault codes before dot comes to do annual inspection on the trucks

My 99 freightliner has the switches lowr dash, left side by door. Flip up the toggle and turn key to on, not starting truck. red and yellow lights indicate active fault codes. Can't see inactive faults unless wired into ecm. Good Luck

If your truck has a "diag", or "Diagnostic" switch, turn the switch on, then turn the key on. This will start the fault code blink sequence. Sometimes the idle adjustment switch and diag switch are the same switch.
