So my blinkers were not working, they were intermittent. So I replaced them with LEDs now they do not blink they come on but do not blink? My flashers flash two or three time and then stay on as well? I ask when I bought them "inland Kenworth". They told me they would work without any resisters.

    2006 KW t800

    Thanks guys

Both my westernstars came from the factory with led lights all around.

I replaced the signal lights on my hood with a new set of led lights last year and had the same issue your having.

After further inspection i took apart the factory signal lights that i took off the truck and there was a built in resistor in each light. What i did was take the resistor out of the old lights and wired them in to the new lights. Problem solved.

Moral of my story, yes you need resistors to keep the truck happy...
Not hard to do., just take the 4 screws that hold the lens on the light housing. Pop out the light and your wiring is right there. Just wire in a small resistor between the hot blinker wire and the ground. Done.

Or ..........just throw a normal 4" sealed beam tail light in the rear of the truck instead of the led

Think they will work once I plug into my trailer set, more draw multiple lights?

Flashers in older trucks basically work on current draw to power the coil inside them that mechanically opens and closes the contacts. Since LEDs draw so little current, the flasher never sees enough current. There are "electronic" style flashers that are suppose to work better with LEDs.

Heavyd these westernstars dont have a genaric old style flasher. It all goes thru this module behind the dash. But it still seems to need a bit more draw to make it work correctly then what LED lights can provide.

Steve 62, not sure if after you plug into your trailer they will work, its possible i guess. I never tryed that when i was having an issue. I just fixed it .
You can get those resistors at radio shack or any electronic store.

On Kenworth T800 2006. You should change the flasher to led style as said in other post.
    All will work fine.
