Most companies I think go back 7 or 10 years but some will work with you.
Good luck!straaka Thanks this. -
Calling @Chinatown, Carolina Cargo comes to mind. Good luck.straaka Thanks this.

You should start submitting applications right now; don't wait until graduation. Job offers will be contingent upon you successfully graduating from school. Smart move, community college program.
Do some online applications then sit back and wait a few days for the job offers. Pick the best offer or the company you like best.
TransAm - nicest trucks on the road and set up for driver comfort.
Abilene Motor Express
Magnum Ltd.
Freymiller - trucks as nice as TransAm
Navajo Express
@carramrod32 posted Carolina Cargo; they'll hire you. Try the others first though. Carolina Cargo is a team operation doing west coast turnarounds back to back. You'll see California/Pacific Northwest every few days. This is a second chance company for drivers and serves a good purpose in many cases.Last edited: Sep 4, 2016

On websites for the companies listed above, ignore the hiring criteria, because they all cut slack and hire drivers fresh out of school.
-
Western Express and Paschall Truck Lines will also probably hire you, but I'd put them down on the bottom under the refrigerated companies. You'll probably be content with any of those refrigerated companies.

Thanks so much for the help. I have prehires from May, PTL, and Covenant. Ideally I would love to run southern lanes, Texas, Arrizona etc. I understand I cant always stay below I40 but would like to have more experience before I get to crazy up east. Im looking to run 3-4 wks out at a time, learn my clock, stay safe, have fun. Thats my hope but I understand I pretty well go where they tell me, Nonetheless I will trudge along and overcome what comes my way. Thanks for the advice and stay safe

Get 12 months experience then switch to South-East Carriers. Lots of west coast and no northeast.
Danny Herman Trucking doesn't do Northeast and runs lot of west.
Navajo has a terminal in Jackson,TN and a yard in Chino,CA so lots of coast to coast.
Navajo/Freymiller/TransAm/Magnum have APU's in the trucks for driver comfort. If you want to be on the road for long periods of time, pick a company with trucks that are set up for driver comfort. Some have direct tv/refrigerator/freezer/xm radio, etc.
Check the websites and they show what the trucks are equipped with. Can't find any negative posts on Freymiller.Last edited: Sep 4, 2016

You say felony drug charges but don't say convictions.. Were you convicted?
