Hi all. I am hoping that someone can help me out with this, since I cannot seem to get quite what I am looking for on Google. I got my CDL in Aug of 2013, and got hired by a company. I got into an accident in Arkansas in Dec. of 2013. Flipped the truck over a guard rail and rolled over 2 or 3 times down into a ditch. Got a ticket for careless or prohibited driving on my TN CDL Paid the ticket because it would have cost more to defend it in court, even if I would have won, which I wouldn't have anyway. Needless to say, I was promptly canned by that company. No biggie, as I was ready to get outta the drivers seat after that. Anyway, I held onto my CDL until recently, then missed my renewal date for the DOT physical. I am and have been in another job since just after the accident. But If I was to decide that I no longer wanted to continue in my present profession and decided to go back to trucking (crazy, I know) , I know that I will have to go through CDL training again, most likely through a starter company. My question is, will the ticket be off my record after 3 years or 2 years? TN (the state my license is in) DMV says tickets stay for 2 years. How far back would the new company look? I think 3 years. Also, can anyone tell me if they go from the date of the citation or the date I paid it? I paid it in Jan 2014. Or, is it all moot anyway because I flipped a truck over? Thanks in advance for your attention.
Out of state ticket

Who said tickets come off after 2-3 years? I have tickets from March 2013 on my record.. I stay in Memphis BTW. I also have a ticket from the west Memphis scales dating back to Aug 2013.

It will stay in your DAC report for a long time.
Don't go back to trucking. Next time it could be my family you take out instead of a truck.TequilaSunrise Thanks this. -
Well, since you had a DOT Recordable accident, most companies won t touch you until at least 5 years has passed. If that accident shows up on your Hire Right report, it will be on there until Dec 2020. Seems to me you re lucky to be alive.

The Arkansas dmv says that. But the Tn dmv says 2 years.

Thanks for you answer. Figured as much. It really was not not as bad as it sounds.

DAC reports are not controlled by any state DMV.
DAC aside you are legally required to report every company you have worked for in the past ten years. That company says you were let go for rolling a truck, there it is.Weeezerd Thanks this. -
Well the Arkansas dmv must've forgot about me then lol.

How did you go about flipping the truck anyway?
