There ain't no grudge, there.
You are looking at classic symptoms of a company with cash flow problems.
Your boys should have their resumes up to date.
Anyone know what's up with Western Express?

i have been reading alot of stuff here about western express.good and bad but unfortunately more bad things. now i'm real worried about going there for orientation. after trying a few others and got turned down from lack of experience western express is willing to give me a shot. i sure would like to hear from some satisfied drivers from western express. my friend says western express is offering me a job when others wouldn't.give them a chance and be a good driver for them and they will treat me right.

You are looking at a thread that is 4 yrs old. Don't think i would judge a company by info that old.

western is realy not a bad company. if you do what is asked of you and run as hard as you can for them they do treat you good. the only complaints i have is .29 a mile and i have been trying to get to the bodyshop in nashville since jan. darn nj curbs and the sideskirts on my prostar are 2or3 inches of the ground. was monuvering behind a grocery store with another truck cars dumpsters poles, and no i was not backing. cought the curb and poped one of the skirts off breaking the latches. have not been charged for it yet.knock on wood. it was unavoidable(except not having to deliver there.) i have other post on here you can read. so far almost everyone i met from western has been pretty cool.
bentstrider83 Thanks this. -
There is something bad said about every company out there,
Some people complain about Knight Trans, I have friends that work there and they have NO problems other then the normal,
If someone goes into ANY company, does what is asked of them, (legally) then
they will get treated well, if someone goes in there and starts with
"I'm not going there"
"I'm not driving a 2 year old truck, I want something new"
"What do you mean I can't go home for 10 days, I've been out here for for 2 weeks, your killing me"
"You made the appointment time for 1830, how the Hell am I going to make that ??
the buffet is from 1700-1900" !!!!
Then yeah, you'll do a lot of sitting, the dispatchers are going to be thinking
"Screw this guy, I need someone that can get loads delivered, not one who whines all day long"
If you find you don't like a company, continue to look for another, in the mean time your getting seat time, the more you have, the better the jobs .....
Be safe... -
The part in red says that they are a bad company.........at least to work for. -
its a start. i have herd of companies(larger ones) paying less then that. that does not make them a bad company just cheap.

western express promotes unsafe driving practices..their atitiude sucks.

Was with these guys out of their Fontana terminal from Nov '10 to Nov '11.
I was actually happy with the fact that they had me running between SoCal and Colorado 80% of the time.
My DM was cool, the equipment was great, but it all came to a halt after some things happened in November of last year and I was fired for it.
One thing I learned from it was to always question a load assignment if you don't have the hours to do it.
My problem was that I got suckered into thinking that my DM was a friend(He was my week trainer prior to becoming a DM) and if I ratted him out to safety that I would lose him as a DM and the CA-to-CO runs I was consistently getting.
Now I've already burnt through two separate companies as of late(predominantly running the dreaded I-5 corridor, hate it with a passion) and am now doing security work with an old employer until I can figure out what my next move is.
If anything, since I wasn't fired over an accident, I may see about rehire after a few more months roll by.
But until then, remember, if it begins to feel fishy, TALK TO SAFETY!
