To the OP how does your CVOR and abstract look? What part of the province are you in? Big difference between for example Toronto area or say up around Thunder Bay?

That's the problem when people don't put their location on their profile; it keeps us guessing.

My opinion is: keep the jobyou have. It is probably a union job with union benefits. As you gain seniority, you'll get your pick of better routes. It is stable, year round work. You can make a budget based on reliable numbers. You collect overtime pay. Best of all, you can go home every night and have a life.

Have you tried applying? Are you getting turned down because of the border issue? Lots of companies run or offer Canada only. A little confused. You need to give us more details.

I agree. I spent years chasing the dream OTR and never really did that
well. Trash is a decent paying stable job.

Depends if the company you are with is a good company or not.
Do you drive a decent truck? Is the maintenance good? If not, you
might try some other local company. Around here all the construction
companies, lumber yards, concrete companies, they are all hiring.
Chances are with your current experience you might be able to find
    a better spot.
