daytime running lights

in a former truck i had, in the fuse panel, i had to remove a relay. it'll be hot if you leave the lights on, to find it.

but i never removed any such relay's in later trucks, i just leave things alone.

i am not certain if you remove it, you could get horse whipped, should you be in an accident, and they were not operable.

 

Its probably the connectors at the bulbs. They are weak and a problem even on the newer Prostars. Fortunately they're cheap to replace. I've got a 2011 Prostar built in June, 2010 with the original bulbs but both connectors have been replaced.

 

They don't. There have been more than a few times over the years I've had this truck where, in less than good light where I've seen cross traffic start to pull out and hard brake. I wouldn't run any truck without DRLs.

 

another thing to, to consider is the insurance company. if thru an investigation the cops find that the DRL were disconnected,the driver may get hit for being at fault, as he monkeyed around with safety equipment the insurance company can deny any claim against the driver or the company as well.

really gotta think the whole picture for the price of a what, $12 light bulb?

 

Light bulb usually fail prematurely when they are vibrating all the time due to loose pot hold-downs.

 

open your glove box and there should be one breaker and one relay(I think)marked day time running lights. Pull these out and it will disable the DRL.

 

Maybe,maybe not.I have heard some say there was,but on my 99 990i there wasn't a breaker,relay or fuse. I had to go under the dash & unplug them from a box that controlled them.
