I didn't mean to come across as being completely miserable all the time. It is true I would rather be home all the time and be with my family. There are things I like about the job and things I hate about it.
The only job I had where I was truly miserable was working in a call center. I really hated that job. That's why I don't complain about dispatch. They have a hard job so I try to leave them alone.

I spoke to her last week when she wad arranging a trailer swap, sure sounded like she was on the ball.
Now watch her get moved to another dept next month.
MidWest_MacDaddy and chralb Thank this. -
With the solitude that is part and parcel of otr life, the smallest things can seem enormous. Compound that with missing family and anyone would have a right to feel miserable from time to time.
Its oddballs like me with noone to miss that this job probably suits most. -
You're not alone there. Same here.

Please brother, bite your keyboard. Lol
KD5AXG Thanks this. -
The other job I didn't care for was delivering home heating oil. It's diesel with a red dye in it. The smell sticks to you like glue.

Well.... What I'm learning so far about trucking, things change and plans change so fast. Instead of finishing phase 2, testing out. We are headed back to Riverside, CA again. Sabra load going to Castle/Cooke. My third time going there in two weeks.
Though I only have 13hrs left on my 70. Rolling reset starting tomorrow. Odds might have it we will swap loads somewhere along the way. We will not make the delivery with my reset.
Guess it's more good experience for me. I do need practice backing.MidWest_MacDaddy, Redtwin and RebelChick Thank this. -
@chralb - where in Newport News are you delivering?

Mods must've deleted him pretty quickly. Don't see any posts, but then I've been driving all day. 667 in 10.5 hrs. Yay! And thanks to Higgins at the window, I didn't have to sit on the load I got out of FL. Sitting back with my feet up while dinner is being cooked by my personal chef (who, by the way, hates cooking on the truck. He's out of his element.)
